Raised on Staten Island, New York, Derek has been creating art for as long as he can remember—starting with the cartoon characters he drew for hours as a kid. In high school, he made the leap most people only talk about: he committed to becoming a full-time artist.
Derek is 100% self-taught, shaped by daily practice and a deep respect for the craft. He was drawn to weddings because they hold the kind of emotion worth preserving—connection, nerves, joy, and the quiet in-between moments that make the day feel real.
