We didn't build a photography business. We built the wedding experience we couldn't find anywhere else.
Most couples we meet have already done the work. They've scrolled through portfolios, asked friends, compared styles, and still felt unsure who would actually make the wedding feel natural — not staged, rushed, or generic.
This page is here to answer the question underneath all of that: why us, and why does it matter for your wedding?
About Us
How we got here
Lenny started working events at 12. By 21, he'd launched his own company, built from the ground up.
Melissa started photography at 16 — not as a hobby, but as a craft she'd been training in for years before it became her career.
By the time we came together in 2011, we'd both been around enough weddings to notice the same thing: couples were being handed beautiful-looking photos from teams that didn't really know them, didn't work together on the day, and didn't think about what happened after the wedding.
The photos existed. The wedding didn't.
So we decided to do it differently — together.
Best friends since '99. Married since 2014.
We've known each other since 1999. Married since 2014. By the time we photograph your wedding, we've been working as a team for over a decade.
That matters because the way we move through your wedding day isn't something we're trying to manufacture on the morning of. We already know when the other person has the shot. We already know what the other one is going to suggest. We already trust each other to read a moment and back off.
To you, it feels calm. To us, it's a rhythm we've been running for years.
"You are not getting just a photographer; you are gaining friends that become family." — Ben Miller
Our Couples Tell Us the Same Things Over and Over
How We Work.
When we show up on your wedding day, we’re not strangers with cameras. We’ve already shared laughs at your engagement session, swapped stories over coffee, and built the kind of trust that lets you forget the camera is even there.
We guide you when needed
Step back when moments unfold naturally
Stay together as a team all day so nothing is missed.
While one of us is capturing the quiet moment you share with your dad before walking down the aisle, the other might be photographing the reaction on your partner’s face.
What We Believe
Your wedding photos should be:
Personal
A reflection of who you are, not a template of someone else’s day.
Comfortable
So you can be yourself without feeling posed or staged.
Timeless
Edited by hand, true to life, and made to last generations.
Tangible
Delivered in heirloom-quality albums and wall art, handmade in Italy.

Handmade Italian Album
Why we built the business the way we did
Every piece of how we work — the low volume, the engagement session, the timeline planning, the Signature Wedding Premiere Party, the handmade album — comes from one decision we made early: we were going to build the kind of wedding experience we wished existed when we started.
That meant:
- Photographing weddings together, every time, instead of splitting up and recreating moments after the fact
- Taking no more than thirty weddings a year, so every couple actually gets our attention before, during, and after the wedding
- Building a custom timeline with each couple, instead of running the day on a generic template
- Revealing the finished story in person at a Signature Wedding Premiere Party, instead of sending a link and disappearing
- Crafting a handmade Italian album, so the wedding becomes something the family actually holds — not files that fade into a hard drive
"With L&M, it doesn't feel like a business transaction, it feels like you are hanging out with good friends — who also happen to be taking a lot of great pictures of you." — Travis Houston
Once we photograph your wedding, we don't disappear.
Your wedding doesn't become a closed project the day we deliver your album. That's why our couples are invited back for a complimentary studio session each year — for first homes, first babies, anniversaries, milestones, and whatever comes next.
We're not photographing your wedding to add it to a portfolio. For us, the wedding is usually the beginning of the relationship — not the end of the job.
