Tell us how you first met? who what when where why? give us the dirty details.
So both being Marines, we met at work...(read: on deployment) and then ran into each other again back in the states. (Jeff would tell you our first interaction was actually a conversation about coffee and that my office was an absolute wreck! Piles of paper. Everywhere.) Jeff became one of my "go to" Marines to bounce ideas off of. When he left the Marine Corps, we went on a date which turned out to be many dates which lead to now.

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did? etc.
Ali: I'm still working on figuring that out.
Jeff: *denotes vacant stare*

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)
Jeff says he wasn't nervous...much. He contacted a friend of mine and asked about romantic spots in the area. After walking through the Arboretum for several hours, with a ring box stuffed inside his sock, Jeff finally found a quiet bench off one of the walking paths. We were sitting for about 6.4 minutes when Jeff ended up on one knee in front of me. I had NO IDEA what was happening. It actually took me a few moments to catch up to what was happening (this is apparently normal if you ask Jeff.) I'm pretty sure I asked him if he was crazy. Then I said yes.

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.
Jeff: I truly like that she still allows me to be her advisor even though my role as a military advisor has ended.  It's difficult to step out of the "she's-only-talking-to-me-because-she-needs-me-to-help-her-with-a-problem" role and into the "I'm-only-telling-you-because-I-need-someone-to-listen" role.  It's an adjustment.  She puts up with it.  I love that.
Ali: His sense of humor. If you ever meet him, you'll understand.

If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.
Jeff: Ali, a recent immigrant to the United States, still struggles with the English language.  Instead of anyone "always" doing something, it's "oh-ways" makes me giggle.
Ali: Jeff, who has apparently memorized the entire dictionary, likes to say things incorrectly to see if I catch it. He's a strange bird. (Also...I'm native sue me if my accent gets me every now and again!)

Besides getting married - what's the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?
Ali: Spending time with our friends...and champagne.
Jeff: Asparagus salad. It's legit.
